Save Community Mental Health

There is a crisis for many people with disabilities. Some people with disabilities are being rejected for NDIS, but being immediately cut off state government community mental health services and local council home and community care services.

The Australian Services Union estimates that 91% of Victorians with severe mental health needs won't be eligible for NDIS.

Meanwhile the state government has ripped $75 million from the community mental health. In 2014 it decided to transfer this money into the NDIS on the assumption that everyone with a disability would be looked after under the NDIS.

The ASU is organising a campaign calling on the state government to provide:

1. Immediate interim refunding to community mental health services for a period of 3 years.
2. A commitment to invest in developing a long term plan for community mental health in Victoria.
